Ashburn is a hamlet in the rural northern half of the Town of Whitby, set among farmland on the Oak Ridges Moraine roughly ten minutes north of the 401. Royal Ashburn Golf Club

Royal Ashburn opened in 1962 and has since been reshaped by Canadian architect Ian Andrew into one of Durham Region's best public tests. The par-72 layout offers five sets of tees ranging from 4,783 yards up to roughly 7,100, with mature trees, undulating fairways, and immaculate greens that have helped it earn a regular place in national top-100 conversations.
