Saanich is the largest municipality in Greater Victoria, wrapping around the northern side of BC's capital on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. Its setting blends rolling farmland, freshwater lakes, and nearly 30 km of Salish Sea shoreline — including the sandy crescents of Cordova Bay and Cadboro Bay — all under the mildest climate in Canada. For golfers, that mild Pacific weather means exceptionally long playing seasons, and the district is home to two of the region's most-played venues: the award-winning Cordova Bay Golf Club and the busy municipal Cedar Hill Golf Course. Combined with quick access to Victoria, BC Ferries, and the wider Saanich Peninsula, it's one of the most convenient golf bases on the island.

The 18-hole Bay Course was designed by Canadian architect Bill Robinson and opened in 1991, quickly becoming one of Vancouver Island's benchmark public tracks. It plays through mature coastal forest and along Burnham Creek, with standout views across Haro Strait to Mount Baker on the horizon. The course was the first Audubon-certified sanctuary on Vancouver Island and has been named PGA of BC Facility of the Year multiple times, and its flexible routing allows both full 18-hole rounds and a more relaxed 9-hole experience.

PARC is Cordova Bay's dedicated short-game facility, built around a 9-hole par-3 putting and chipping course alongside a giant putting green, two chipping greens, and a practice bunker. It's engineered purely for touch — wedge distance control, green-reading, and sand play — which makes it one of the best short-game venues in the Greater Victoria area. Rentals are hourly and the layout is approachable for beginners while still challenging for competitive players tuning up before a round on the Bay Course.
